Once upon a time there was...is how the history of the Budas and the hotel Eliseo could begin.
In fact there was a woman named Anna, brave and strong, a seafaring woman, born on the sea-shore into a fishermen’s family that provided for their families’ maintenance from the sea with their "Batana" (typical boat of the Adriatic).
This young woman married Oreste Buda, who was a bricklayer, and, once the war was over, they decoded to think about something different for their future.
Tourism had started to discover our town by then and so, helped by three of their children, Armando, Luisa and Rosetta, Oreste and Anna began to enlarge their first house that during the summer months they already rented to the first families on holiday: so the "Eliseo Inn " was born, with only 8 rooms.
A further enlargement to 20 rooms turned the inn into the
"Eliseo Pension". The customers increased season after season, not only with Italian tourists but also with foreign guests, in particular Germans.
An another step ahead, other sacrifices and the Eliseo became bigger until it reached the actual 32 rooms and turned itself from a pension into a hotel. This is the history of Oreste and Anna, the grandparents, the history of the hotel Eliseo, wanted and started by them 58 years ago.
Now to carry on their history there are us, three of Armando’s five children: Bernardetta, Giambattista and Emanuele, helped by mummy Violante who carries on with the help of a cook, proposing the tastes of genuine and typical dishes in memory of grandmother Anna and of all the secrets learned from her.
